Oh, and add yankees in '05 and Angels in '09 my last one... but I'm still trying to forget those.
ReplyDeleteSo now I'm going through old scorecards to see if I have any notes on a HR hitting Pesky's Pole. I believe I have seen one, but can't think of a specific.
ReplyDeleteHaven't found any yet, but the '04 scorecard book did turn up these gems:
- "Base on balls" chant for Bellhorn
- All Star ballot: they announced Ortiz should be written in
- Peanut vendor in Sec 43 tossing them to SRO on RF roof
- 83 [game-time temp] got applause
- Malaska re-inflated confiscated beach ball & threw it back out
- PP = pigeon poop [meaning I got hit by some]
- Timlin spraying sec. 40 w/ hose
OK, found a homer off Pesky's Pole - Adam Lind 9/29/09. I noted it as "Lind's HR off the Bellhorn Pole".
ReplyDeleteAlso:
Troy O'Leary 9/22/01
B.J. Upton 9/12/07
I love that you keep notes like that on your scorecard. I'll have to start doing that.
ReplyDeleteI was at game 1 of the '04 WS. Bellhorn off Pesky's Ploe is pretty well remembered.
