The Topps Heritage brand is a nice idea. Since the Topps Company has been making cards for sixty years, they have a lot of old-time designs that were pretty cool. So, they’ve been recycling them. It makes a nice look to see newer players in old designs. Rather than the flashiness of some newer brands, they offer a crisper card with more focus on the players. Topps even did a good job with the pictures, keeping them with the style of the older versions. No wild action shots in those days, so Topps stayed true to form. I do wonder, though, if there’s a reason Lowell never looks happy in these posed shots. At least Kevin Youkilis was able to crack a smile. Oh well.

Happy Mike Lowell Day!
