Sorry Astros Fans. Your Team is Lousy!

It’s nothing personal. Facts are just facts. 

After all, the Red Sox have been off to amazing start. They have

the most wins in baseball, by about 10% over anyone else. They’ve won at home. They’ve won on the road. Coming off a season where they were the division champs, and adding a power hitter to that line-up, you’d think it was obvious that the Red Sox had a really good team.

That’s not what the Boston sportswriters think though. The Red sox team isn’t very good. They just haven’t played anyone very good.

It started with the fast start after playing the Rays and Marlins. Admittedly, those teams stumbled out of the gate (after playing the Red Sox). So, it doesn’t matter how those teams played before facing the Sox, or after. They were terrible, so the Sox record couldn’t be trusted. It certainly couldn’t be celebrated!

This went on and on. They beat the Yankees? Well, it was at home, and the Yankees are struggling. Baltimore isn’t any good. Beat the Angels, and shut down Ohtani? Their winning record isn’t a real barometer. In Oakland? Well, they got no-hit that one game. KC and Texas are lousy. They beat the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. But, they did lose the series. See? Oakland again? That was at home…can’t count that. The first place Braves. That doesn’t count either.

Then the Sox split a series against the defending champs, in Houston. They faced Cole, Verlander, and Morton, and won two of the four games. 

So, clearly, the Astros aren’t nearly as good as their second place record would indicate. I mean, they’re behind the Mariners for crying out loud. Sure, the only team in baseball with more wins is the Red Sox. But, obviously they got there by smoke and mirrors. They can’t be a quality team, even if this makes a couple seasons in a row of having a quality record.

The Red Sox beat them, so they must be terrible. 

Geez, the Red Sox beat them without even needing to use Mookie Betts!

So, I’m sorry to tell Astros fans this. I’m sure it came as quite a shock to them. You would imagine that a team that has at least 37 wins out of their first 61 games would be pretty good. You’d think that 60 games would be a pretty good sample size since it’s almost 40% of the season. But, no. It’ll all be downhill from here. Sorry.

Every team the Red Sox plays must be garbage.
