Jordan St.Onge Visits Section 36!

Jordan (r), joined by her sister queens
Miss Cambridge Mackenzie Starnes (l)
and Miss Boston Madison Cota
Section 36 has another visitor!

Jordan St.Onge is a Red Sox fan, a talented dancer, and the newly crowned Miss Boston's Outstanding Teen. She will be competing this very weekend for the title of Miss Massachusetts' Outstanding Teen! Thankfully she was able to take a break from her preparations to talk with us about her time as Miss Boston's Outstanding Teen, and of course the Red Sox! I'm really glad she did.

So, let's see what happens when Jordan St.Onge visits Section 36!

How did you celebrate being crowned Miss Boston’s Outstanding Teen?
By going out to eat with my family and friends, without having a nervous stomach.

What made you decide to start competing within the Miss America Organization?
When I heard about the opportunities available to get scholarship money for my future education as well as getting involved in my community.

With Miss Boston’s Outstanding Teen appearances (and interviews) how do make sure your duties won’t interfere with your schooling?
I was a local titleholder last year where I made 115 appearances,
completed over 100 hours of work with the American Lung Association, kept my grades up and played 3 seasons of sports so I am very familiar with multi tasking.

You finished first runner up in last year’s Miss Massachusetts’s
Outstanding Teen competition. What lessons did you learn from that experience that will help you at this year’s competition?
I learned what a state pageant interview is like in comparison to the local interview. I definitely feel that I prepared differently this time. I also learned that the competition is stronger so I have to work extremely hard to achieve my goal.

Your competition talent is Irish step dance. What’s your favorite part about that activity?
I like how it’s different from most talents. It seems to capture the audience’s attention and I enjoy it. I also love that it allows me to show off a bit of my Irish heritage.

How did you select your platform, “Big Tobacco’s Final Hour: Lung Cancer Awareness and Prevention”?
I chose this platform for a very personal reason. My grandmother was diagnosed 4 years ago with Stage 4 Metastatic Lung Cancer that had metastasized in her spine. She is a nonsmoker but was exposed to a large amount of second hand smoke so now she is struggling everyday. I decided at that time that I would fight to raise awareness and funds in her honor.

Who is your favorite current Red Sox player? Why?
Andrew Benintendi because he bats well, he is a talented outfielder and he’s cute.

How do you think the Red Sox will finish the 2018 season?
I have faith that they are going to do well during the regular season and should make it pretty far in the playoffs.

Hard to argue with that!

As always, I want to give a huge thank you to Jordan for taking the time to visit with us. Another big thank you to her for providing the incredible picture to go along with the post. It's definitely one of the best!

If you want to keep track of keep track of Jordan during her time as Miss Boston's Outstanding Teen, check out her official website and social media accounts:  Instagram and Facebook!

Of course, I also want to wish Jordan the best of luck this weekend at the Miss Massachusetts' Outstanding Teen competition. How amazing would it be if the winner was a forever Section 36 visitor for the second year in a row?

Thanks again for the visit Jordan, and good luck this Sunday!
